Chef Peter Kuenzi

Chef & Owner, Zuppas

Trained at the famed Culinary Institute Of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., Peter Kuenzi developed his signature style while cooking at upscale restaurants in Marco Island, Fl. and Chicago in the late 1980’s.

Kuenzi returned to Northeast Wisconsin in 1992 to serve as executive chef for the Oshkosh Power Boat Club. With a loyal following of diners drawn to his unique offerings, Kuenzi pursued his next venture in 1996-co-founding The Season’s, a chic restaurant in Appleton, WI.

Three years later Kuenzi opened Zuppas-Italian for “soup”-in downtown Neenah’s Marketplace building. His creative cuisine attracted a growing customer base, and in 2003 Zuppas was relocated to its current home in Neenah’s Shops at Mahler Farms on South Commercial Street.

Kuenzi appears regularly on Fox 11 WLUK-TV’s “Living With Amy”, sharing recipes and cooking tips across Northeast Wisconsin. He also has taught popular cooking classes at Williams-Somona in Appleton.

Penny has been with Zuppas since the opening. She enjoys organizing and setting up catering events and working with the Zuppas team.

Alex has been with Zuppas for 12 years. Alex enjoys making people happy serving their favorites, hearing the compliments, and expanding his food knowledge.

Lisa

Pastry Chef

Lisa enjoys thinking outside the box while maintaining a regular product for customers returning. She has twice been awarded Reach Counseling Service Best Dessert and has shared her knowledge through local cooking demonstrations for women's groups, and on Fox 11 Living With Amy.
